Frequently asked questions

What's your purpose?
We make games about kindness. We believe that games can make you feel better about yourself, the people around you, and the world you live in. And we believe that the profits should go towards causes that uplift humanity.
Is the Wondrous Foundation a non-profit game studio?
Yes we are. We’re in the process of applying for tax-exempt status with the IRS. We are incorporated in California as a non-profit public charity.
Why a non-profit?
We believe that the public (everyone of all ages, backgrounds, and locations) should have high quality, fun games about kindness available on every device they have access to.

Gaming has a bright future ahead, but the industry needs balance. It is too skewed towards profit at any cost, often at the expense of players both mentally and materially. We want to put players first, always.

We will prioritize making our games accessible to everyone.

We believe games about kindness can have a profound impact on humanity.

One third of the human population plays video games. Research shows that games about kindness can help solve the growing mental health crises around the world by addressing loneliness, teaching empathy and compassion, and creating a controlled environment that exposes players to awe, which has a long lasting impact on one’s sense of wellbeing.
How can I volunteer?
If you’re interested in volunteering, please reach out to info@wondrous.foundation and let us know who you are and how you’d like to help out. We’ll see if there are active projects that align with your experience.
Are you hiring?
We’re not actively hiring right now. We do plan to hire in the future. We will post our open roles here and on LinkedIn.
How do I donate to your cause?
Wondrous is currently in the process of getting its tax-exempt status with the IRS. We are accepting donations.

The status of those donations depends on whether we get tax exempt status. If we do get it, your donation will retroactively apply as a tax write off, which we will provide the receipt for.

If we don’t succeed in getting tax-exempt status, it would be considered a gift to the Wondrous Foundation. If you’re interested please email us at give@wondrous.foundation.
What games are you making?
We have a game project in development currently, but it is unannounced. When we're ready to share more we'll let you know. Sign up for updates here.
What causes do you support with charitable giving?
Currently, we are focused on giving to those who are solving food, water and housing insecurity; contributing to the positive psychology research that is the backbone for our games; and giving micro-grants to entrepreneurs who want to take a chance on an idea that will uplift humanity.

We also intend to partner with veterans’ groups to provide our games directly to those who are struggling with loneliness and stress disorders. We will have more to announce soon.
Do you make educational games?
We make games that are fun to play, and are for everyone. We believe we must go where the public is and wants to be. That means making high quality and entertaining games about kindness which prioritize the human needs of self-actualization, self-esteem, and belonging, regardless of profitability.
Can I sign up to be a play tester?
We're not ready for playtests at this stage yet, but when we are you certainly can. Send us an email at playtest@wondrous.foundation and we'll add you to the waiting list.
Where can I learn more about Wondrous?

We're still in the early phases of establishing the foundation. We'll be doing a public launch sometime in early Q2 2024 where we will share a lot more about who we are, what we're doing, and why. We will launch our social media presence then as well.
I am an investor.  How can I get involved?
If you're an investor or would like to make a sizable contribution you can email us at info@wondrous.foundation and we can set up some time to chat.
